New tee and simple bunker reduction to enhance Mornington's iconic 7th
Golf Consultancy Services
Although not suited to every design project, I work with golf clubs across Australia and New Zealand to provide specialised design advice, and help with a variety of decisions related to their golf course.
My primary focus is investigating ways in which clubs can best elevate their golf holes, and realistically maximise their true potential.
It may be that all you need is a shaper with good guidance.
Or it may be necessary to investigate a full masterplan and create a comprehensive golf course design brief. The key is to understand your prospects for genuine improvement, and the financial and operational impacts of any course design decisions.
Unfortunately, golf clubs often spend millions of dollars on redesign projects with unrealistic or inflated expectations. Or they end up redesigning courses that were redesigned only a few years prior.
Finality of design is only possible when golf clubs understand, and accept, the true potential of their course.
Golf clubs that can handle a blunt assessment of their genuine golf prospects can contact me for a golf course appraisal, and to discuss both the quality ceiling of their layout, as well as appropriate, and sustainable, improvement projects.
Public golf is a particular focus. Public golfers are the lifeblood of our game, and I am passionate about protecting where they play and how much they pay for their game. For public access facilities, my initial consultations are free of charge.
