World-class golf starts with a world-class routing.

When it comes to world-class golf, it all starts with the routing.

Having studied hundreds of golf course routings worldwide, I understand the need for the careful surveying of a property in order to unlock its golfing potential.

I’ve developed my own painstaking routing methodology, that involves getting to know a site as best I can and looking for both individual highlight holes as well as rhythm, variety and unique features / elements that may help to create a memorable golf experience.

With the exception of The Farm at The Hills, my routings take time.

CURRENT ROUTINGS

Brilliantly routed to follow the water race ….. the course (The Farm) sits on dramatic land which provides scintillating views of Queenstown. The holes are eminently playable with extensive teeing areas providing extensive options regardless of ability.

An epic set of greens are punctuated by the natural double green on holes one and eight which is the biggest putting surface in the southern hemisphere.”

We acquired the site for The Cliffs because we knew how much potential it had. Course designer Darius Oliver has started from scratch to design what we believe will be a world-class destination golf course with a uniquely Australian character.

We’ve taken full advantage of the dramatic coastal views, which are available across the site, and have seven holes wrapping directly around the clifftops as well as ensuring fantastic views from the clubhouse and across the course.

“The routing is also brilliant, starting first along big rocks. It lets you hit your golf ball just next to the roaring coastline where the wind usually plays a big role. Then you are moving more inland at the 6th before returning to the ocean edge at the downhill 10th. After you’ve hit some tough shots among the large dunes, you will ultimately face an incredible finish with Nos. 14, 15, 16, 17 and foremost the 18th curving beautifully along Victoria Cove beach.

If this does not entertain you, I don’t know what will.”
