The Hills Golf Club – Bunker Reduction (Championship Course)

The Hills Golf Club in Arrowtown is a celebrated private facility, with a strong championship pedigree and popular golf course.

 

Following construction of the par three Farm course, I was asked by the club to prepare a report on bunkering and the general design of the main Championship course. The report focused on areas where bunkers could be removed or reduced to improve play, and ease with maintenance.

 

To this point, bunker reduction works have been undertaken on holes 2, 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 18.

 

There has also been fairway expansion on holes 9 and 15, and a new tee built on hole 7.
